Newsweek calls Obama “The First Gay President” , was Obama smart for supporting gay marriage?

Now you guys know I’m not one to really divulge into politics, but news in entertainment is slow, and I actually find this cover a bit rude to our president.

What this cover says is that any man who supports, befriends, or helps gay people is gay. Pegging our president who is not only married but has Children as “The First Gay President” on a national publication is misleading, disrespectful, and inappropriate to say the least.

Many people have wondered if Obama was smart for coming out and supporting gay marriage. In my opinion Obama did what he had to do to help himself win the next election.

People who won’t vote for Obama because he supports gay marriage probably didn’t vote for him before, and won’t vote for him now. But the amount of just gay people alone who will now vote for Obama for his support will be significant. It will probably equal out the number of blacks who won’t vote this year because the hype of having a black president has died down.

President Obama has always been a spokesperson for the everyday person that is why he won. The everyday person may be white or black, gay or straight, fat or skinny. It doesn’t matter Obama stands for THEE American, which is why he won before.
